Requirements for Tutors

  • between 18 and 99 years old

  • have a background in working with children and/or teenagers (this could include tutoring kids after school, teaching as a substitute or assistant teacher, counselling at a summer camp, babysitting or many more)

  • in good mental and physical health

  • mature and have a genuine interest in living in a different culture

  • native English, Spanish or French speaker

Language Tutor Program Costs & Details

Ayusa carefully screens each potential host family. The Ayusa local coordinator visits the family at home and interviews them. Most of our German host families live in and around the cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Munich.

Payment schedule

Once you have submitted your completed application form, you will be required to pay a portion of the program fee (100€) in order to reserve a spot in the program. This fee is non-refundable

Program Details

  • Program length: 1-3 months

  • Program start: all year around, arrival is always at a weekend

  • Application deadline: min. 8 weeks before desired departure date
